What is Vintage?

Our vintage clothing is one of the things that makes Petrune unique.   We carefully curate our vintage collection, looking for items that are seasonal and on trend, while also representing the best features of decades past.  We  often acquire new pieces from estate sales and auctions, and sometimes from in-store customers who have family heirlooms that they hope will find a special home. 

So how do we define "Vintage" clothing? Vintage items have a past, they have lived through the ages and may have switched hands many times, or maybe have stayed in the family for decades. Our vintage clothing may date from as early as the 1800's, up through the 1990's. These articles of clothing, or accessories, have seen much and transcended time. Each individual piece of vintage clothing has a story, and it can often be amazing.  One thing for certain is that each piece is unique.

Retro trends always circle back. What was trendy in the 70's will make a comeback, resulting in a statement we all remember hearing our parents make, "I used to wear this when I was your age!" Trends from years past always return, but maybe with a twist - this is why we love being able to sell both vintage and modern: defy the rules of fashion, mix and match, and compliment old with new.
